Tracks in the area indicated that the young male was not along; tracks from a mature female and another young grizzly were found. This is the second accident involving bears in Yellowstone since the roads opened for the season. Last week a female was struck in the Hayden Valley by a car near the Mary Mountain trailhead, but the female and her three cubs ran away. The trail was closed when rangers searched in vain for the injured bear. We've also set up a free Twitter account so you can receive updates on the device of your choice. |
