Doane FireThe Doane Fire, located south of the East Entrance near Yellowstone Lake, has stopped kicking up smoke and is most likely done.

“We really don’t expect that fire to do anything,” Yellowstone Spokesman Al Nash told the Jackson Hole News & Guide.

It has been a slow summer for forest fires in Yellowstone National Park: the Doane Fire may have peaked at a quarter-acre in size. Two previous fires failed to expand more than a half acre. Cooler temperatures and plenty of precipitation have created unfavorable conditions for forest fires.
