The Arthur 2 Fire has grown to 218 acres and has the potential to impact operations at the East Entrance, but cool, wet weather is stifling the fire's growth, leading experts to predict no major spread today and tonight.

The fire is south of Middle Creek and is visible from East Entrance Road (Hwy. 20), but no closures are in effect due to the fire.

The main activity to date: two engine crews evaluated and improved structure protection, such as sprinkler systems, near the East Entrance's developed area. Engine crews and other fire personnel monitored the fire from along the road and vantage points on ridges. The Lewis and Clark Wildland Fire module is working with the Park County, Wyoming, Fire District, to evaluate the existing structure protection plan for the North Fork Highway to the East Entrance.
