[1] Grand Loop Road: The only section of the Grand Loop Road open in Yellowstone National Park runs between the North Entrance and Northeast Entrance via Mammoth Hot Springs. This open section of road provides winter access between Montana and Cooke City. Hwy. 212 will remain open east of Cooke City as long as weather conditions allow; it will not be plowed once winter snows arrive. The Beartooth Pass is closed for the season as well.
